Privacy notice

Who we are

This website is run by IDEAS Research & Data Consultancy, based in Kampala, Uganda. We are responsible for the personal data you send us through it.

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form we collect your name, email address, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, organisation, deadline and the details of your enquiry. We also keep a technical log of each submission that records a one-way hashed version of your IP address, not the address itself.

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies and does not load third-party analytics.

Why we use it

We use your details only to reply to your enquiry, scope the work and, if you engage us, deliver it. We rely on your consent, which you give when you tick the box on the form, and you can withdraw it at any time.

How we protect it

Enquiries are encrypted when stored, held outside the public website, and available only to the people who need them to respond. Access to our systems is limited and logged.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not lead to work for up to 12 months, then delete them. Records linked to an engagement are kept for as long as the contract and the law require.

Your rights

Under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Use the enquiry form to make a request.

Changes to this notice

We will update this page if our practices change. The current version applies from the date the site went live.
