A research and data consultancy in Kampala, Uganda. We help organisations and researchers turn questions into evidence they can defend and act on.
Why we started
Good programmes lose funding because the proposal did not make the case. Good data sits unused because nobody had time to analyse it properly. Monitoring systems are built, then abandoned, because they were designed around the software rather than the team.
IDEAS exists to close those gaps. We bring research methods, statistics and systems design to the organisations and researchers who need them, and we leave behind work people can understand and keep using.
Ideas, evidence and impact are the tests we apply to our own work.
Ideas
Every engagement starts with the question. We push until it is specific enough to fund, test or measure.
Evidence
We choose methods that fit the question and the data, document what we did and state the limits plainly.
Impact
We write for the person who has to act on the result: a reviewer, a programme manager, a board or an examiner.
How we handle your data
- Client data is stored encrypted and never on personal devices
- Access is limited to the people working on your project
- Identifiable data is used only for the agreed purpose
- We return or delete your data when the work closes
- We handle personal data in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019
Where we work
We are based in Kampala, Uganda and work with clients in person or remotely. Field support outside Kampala is scoped and priced as part of the engagement.
